Footpaths are for people
A Salt Campaign to ensure that pedestrians are safe on our footpaths
We think it would be great if everyone felt totally safe on our footpaths, and especially if our children could walk and cycle in the neighbourhood without parents fearing that a vehicle might not notice them when coming in or out of a driveway.
DID YOU KNOW THAT VEHICLES MUST LEGALLY GIVE WAY TO PEOPLE ON THE FOOTPATH WHEN ENTERING OR EXITING A PROPERTY?
In our recent survey of Pt Chevalier residents, more than 90% of people indicated that they were concerned about traffic safety for children in Pt Chev, and 99% agreed that it would be good to encourage people to take extreme care when backing out of driveways.
